All
classes are held once a week for 8 weeks.
Level
1: Manners and Control
Owners learn basic commands and teach them to their dogs,
including: sit,
down, stand, and stay. Dogs will learn how to walk quietly on a
leash and owners will learn basic training techniques. Dogs and
handlers have fun playing games that help teach these basic
manners. No age limits except dogs should be over 4 months of
age; no pre-requisite. Cost: $95 (includes training collar,
leash, homework booklet)
Level
2: Canine Good Citizen
Owners will continue with basic command training to gain further
control. This class culminates with the opportunity for dogs and
owners to take AKC's Canine Good Citizen test where the dogs can
earn their CGC certificate. Pre-requisite: Manners & Control
Class; Cost: $75
Level
3: Beginning Competition Obedience
This is for the student who may be interested in competing in
obedience trials or who enjoys working and training his dog and
wants the opportunity to continue learning and developing
obedience skills. Pre-requisite: CGC Class; Cost: $75 or free
for current members
